Because of their breathability they were safer for babies and the lightweight fabric meant some warmth but no overheating. My own babies became quite attached to these blankets. They were a mainstay for us, especially in the summer in our Maine cabin without air conditioning.

We can vouch for this with our generously sized organic muslins for baby, which are just uber soft, cosy and breathable. Whereas, swaddles or swaddle blankets are typically loose cloth swaddles. These are usually slightly thinner and often designed to be worn/swaddled by the baby.

Jersey Cotton Swaddles are slightly thicker than a Muslin swaddle and have more structure. Because the material is a bit more structured, you will find that it is easier to achieve a swaddle as the material will not move around as much whilst wrapping baby.

The Miracle Blanket is made for babies ages birth to 14 weeks. Babies should ALWAYS sleep on their backs, and never on their sides or stomachs. Additionally, babies should not be swaddled PERIOD, after they begin to roll over.
