    Clinical studies of meloxicam revealed no overall differences in efficacy or safety between geriatric patients and younger individuals; however, fatal adverse GI effects with NSAIAs reported more frequently in geriatric or debilitated patients than younger adults.
    Get emergency medical help if you have signs of an allergic reaction to meloxicam (hives, difficult breathing, swelling in your face or throat) or a severe skin reaction (fever, sore throat, burning eyes, skin pain, red or purple skin rash with blistering and peeling).
    Pharmacokinetics of IV meloxicam in geriatric patients with mild renal impairment are similar to those in young healthy individuals. If anticipated benefits of meloxicam outweigh potential risks, initiate at lower end of the dosing range and monitor for adverse effects.
