Tilt your umbrella forwards, bend your back slightly and walk head on into the wind. Be warned though, this is a maneuver that will severely limit your line of sight! Try to look out for other pedestrians if possible, or wear rain gear instead of an umbrella.

Thunderstorms are electrically charged. Umbrellas mostly contain metal parts which are good conductors of electricity. The electric charge form thunderstorm can move into the umbrella and cause harm to the person carrying it. Therefore, it is nor safe carrying an umbrella during a thunderstorm.

During the rainy season, which is typically associated with cooler temperatures and higher chances of precipitation, umbrellas are commonly used. Rainfall occurs when water droplets condense in the atmosphere and fall to the ground. Umbrellas provide shelter and keep us dry when it is raining.

The most common canopy fabric used today is nylon or polyester: Nylon is waterproof and can block UV rays, while polyester is extremely durable. Coatings of Teflon may be used to make umbrellas quick-drying and water-repellent, while transparent umbrellas are made from vinyl plastic.
